Located between Citrus Heights and Folsom, much of this community was built during the 1950's and the 60's, and development continues with custom mid-size homes on large lots.   The area has its own youth center and supports its own local newspaper.  Orangevale Community Park features tennis courts, a nature trail, two horse arenas, an exercise area and a golf course.  Orangevale is situated near shopping at Sunrise Mall and Birdcage Center. It is located 17 miles northeast of Sacramento and is close to freeways.
