Old to new, Lincoln located along Highway 65 in Placer County along the rolling hills and 27 miles northeast of Sacramento. It is a family-oriented community. Best known for the Feats of Clay Festival (ceramic artists at Gladding McBean Terra cotta plant).  This is a fast growing city with new homes springing up everyday and older housing in the older part of Lincoln. A master planned community known as Twelve Bridges with a 72-par, 18-hole Golf Club is surrounded by 3,000 acres of open and natural space. Situated within the twelve Bridges development is Sun City, an active adult community offering retirement living with a golf course, club house, and organized activities. The city of Lincoln also has its own airport with a 6,000 foot runway.
 
An Indian casino, Thunder Valley is just a few miles out of town and offers a variety of jobs.
 
Housing is a mix. The old town has many cottage, bungalows and homes built 60-100 years ago and moving outwardly the housings gets newer and bigger.
 
Students living in Lincoln attend Western Placer Unified School District.
