Sacramento Neighborhoods

Sacramento, the capital of California is located along the Sacramento River and the American River.  It is known as the "City of Trees" since there are more trees per capita than any other city.  Located in the heart of northern California, Sacamento is a merre 85 miles from San Francisco to the west and 100 miles to Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the east.

Those living in the area refer to Sacramento as Sacto, Sactown, or Sac,Capital City, River City (ues to the two major rivers whih run through the city), and the City of Trees. Some others are The Big Tomato, Sacratomato and Sack o'Tomatoes.

The climate is considered to be that of the Mediterranean with mild winters and dry summers with low humidity.

Sacramento is at the core of the Sacramento Metropolitan area which includes El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento and Yolo Counties with over 2 million residents.
